He was supposed to have a Jamaican accent at first.
Takashi Yuda, the game’s creator, has never intended Knuckles to be anything more than a “supporting character.” Because of his tremendous talents and physical strength, Knuckles was debuted in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 as an “intimidator,” as Product Marketing Manager Pamela Kelly terms it.
