- People’s Park Complex in Chinatown- To have some authentic Chinese food that won’t be burning your pocket like a lot of places in Singapore, head to People’s Park Complex situated in the heart of Chinatown. If you don’t want to spend on a cab, take the MRT from your location to Chinatown station. The exit of the station opens up at the area serving all kinds of Chinese delicacies. Our top picks would be the Hainese Chicken and Rice and the Big Bao being sold at Wenjiabao inside the complex.
- Yun Kaya Toast at Far East Square- Kaya toast is a toast served with butter and kaya, a jam made with eggs, coconut milk, sugar and pandan leaves. Even though it’s a local favourtie, head to Far East Square to taste the original Yun Kaya Toast still being run by the predecessors of the Yun Kaya line!
- Meowmi Cat Café- Situated near Arab Street, this café falls on the main road but is hard to locate due to its minimalistic outdoor décor. If you love cats as much as we do, then this café is a must! Order an orange or apple drink to spend an hour with the cats as they play around you. You can order a cupcake too, which by the way tastes pretty delicious and is very much affordable!
- Gudetama Café at Suntec City Mall- If you have children, or just like cute things yourself, this is the appropriate café to head to. Ask your cab driver to take you to Suntec City Mall, and the café falls straight to your right on the first floor of the mall. The decoration resembles a small egg yolk coming to life and all food items in the café are represented as the egg yolk’s character, Gudetama. A dessert that should be tried here is the cheesecake.
- F.R.I.E.N.D.S Café at Clarke Quay- Situated in Clarke Quay, opposite to the Holiday Inn Express Resort, this café is a must if you have binge watched the T.V. series F.R.I.E.N.D.S. All delicacies are named in a quirky manner and are affordable and delicious to the core! F.R.I.E.N.D.S fan or not, this place is a must!
